About WorthBrief

Last updated:

WorthBrief is an independent product research publication. Our guiding line — Know what's worth buying. — describes a deliberately narrow promise. We exist to help a reader understand a product, a category, or a purchase decision before money changes hands. We are not a store, a marketplace, or a coupon site, and we do not manufacture, stock, sell, or ship the products we write about.

What WorthBrief is for

Shopping decisions are usually made with incomplete information. Specifications are scattered, marketing language is inflated, and the questions that actually matter — Who is this for? What does it not do well? What will it cost to keep? What is the realistic alternative? — are often the hardest to answer. Our work is to gather what is publicly available, organise it clearly, and explain it in plain language so a reader can reach their own conclusion with fewer surprises.

Every page we publish serves that purpose. We would rather explain a trade-off honestly than recommend something confidently for the sake of a cleaner headline.

What we publish

  • Buying guidance that frames a category, the decisions inside it, and the criteria that tend to matter most.
  • Comparisons that place products side by side on documented attributes rather than on preference.
  • Product research that summarises features, specifications, pricing, alternatives, warranty and return terms, and potential limitations.

How we work

We label every piece of analysis with one of three editorial levels, defined in full on How We Review Products:

  • RESEARCHED — built from public documentation, manufacturer specifications, and other verifiable sources.
  • ANALYZED — the same sourcing, extended with structured reasoning, criteria design, and side-by-side evaluation.
  • HANDS-ON TESTED — reserved exclusively for occasions when we have physically handled or used a product ourselves.

That last level is the one we protect most carefully. We will never use the word "tested" for a product we have not actually used. When our work is based on documentation and research, we say so. When we have direct physical experience, we say that too — and describe what that experience covered. A reader should never have to guess which of the two they are reading.

Independence

Editorial conclusions belong to the editorial team. Advertising, sponsorship, and affiliate relationships never buy a favourable conclusion, a ranking position, or a positive rating. Where affiliate links are present, they are disclosed clearly and close to the content they appear in. Our full position is set out in our Editorial Policy and Affiliate Disclosure.

What we do not do

  • We do not invent reviewers, employees, awards, partners, or testimonials.
  • We do not publish product ratings we cannot support with reasoning.
  • We do not claim to have tested what we have not tested.
  • We do not hide a commercial relationship behind editorial language.

Corrections and contact

If we are wrong, we want to fix it, and we say so visibly rather than quietly. Corrections are handled through [email protected]. General enquiries go to [email protected], and partnership enquiries to [email protected]. See Contact for details.

WorthBrief is small by design. Precision matters more to us than volume, and the reader's interest comes before any other commercial consideration on the page.
