This page explains how WorthBrief uses cookies and similar browser storage, what each category does, and which of them require your consent. It describes the site as it operates today.

What cookies and similar storage are

Cookies are small files a site asks your browser to store. Similar mechanisms — local storage, session storage, and small technical identifiers — work in a comparable way. Some are essential to a site functioning at all; others are optional and exist to measure or personalise. WorthBrief separates them into three categories.

Necessary

Necessary storage is required for the site to work correctly and to remain secure. It cannot be switched off, because disabling it would break basic functionality. This category includes:

• Security and anti-abuse storage, used to detect and block automated submissions, scraping, and attacks.
• Consent record storage, which remembers the cookie choices you made so that we apply them consistently on later visits and can show that your preferences were respected.
• Form protection, used to distinguish a real person submitting the contact form from automated traffic.

Necessary storage is not used to track you across other websites, and it is not used for advertising.

Analytics

Analytics storage, where enabled, is used to understand aggregate use of the site — which pages are read, how readers move between them, and where pages are unclear — so that we can improve structure and content. It is configured to avoid advertising identifiers and is not used to build an advertising profile.

Analytics storage is non-essential. Where consent is required by applicable law, it stays disabled until you give permission, and you can change or withdraw that permission at any time through the consent controls on the site. Withdrawing it stops analytics storage from being set on subsequent visits. If analytics is not enabled at all, this category does nothing.

Advertising

WorthBrief does not use advertising cookies or advertising storage at this stage. There is no Meta Pixel, no advertising identifier, and no third-party advertising network setting cookies through this site. Were that ever to change, advertising storage would be classified as non-essential, kept disabled until consent is given where the law requires it, and disclosed here before it was switched on — not after.

Non-essential storage and consent

Non-essential categories — Analytics and Advertising — are disabled until you give consent, in places where consent is required. No non-essential storage is set on the strength of a continued visit or a dismissed banner. Declining is as easy as accepting: both options are presented with equal prominence, and neither changes your access to content.

Your preferences

Your choices are recorded — which categories you accepted or rejected, and when — so that we do not ask again on every page and can apply your decision consistently. Your preference record is used only to honour your choices and to demonstrate that they were honoured. It is not used for profiling or advertising. Where consent preferences are stored as a cookie or local storage entry, that entry is itself Necessary, since removing it would prevent us from remembering your decision.

Managing cookies in your browser

You can also control or delete cookies through your browser settings, including blocking them entirely or clearing existing ones. Blocking Necessary storage may cause parts of the site — the contact form in particular — to behave incorrectly. Browser-level controls apply alongside, not instead of, the consent choices offered on this site.

Changes to this policy

If the categories or the specific storage used by this site change, this page is updated and its updated date changes. Advertising storage, if it were ever introduced, would be disclosed here and gated behind consent before it appeared.
